After a six-year hiatus, UK singer Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is back with a smash new hit.
Adele, who won her first two Grammys at the 51st Awards in 2009, released her anticipated new track, ‘Easy On Me’ on Thursday.
Twenty-two hours into its official launch, the song has generated 37,092,492 views on YouTube to become the site’s top trending clip ahead of Adele’s upcoming album, 30, due to be released next month.
As of the time of filing this report, the YouTube figure is growing rapidly as fans from Europe, US, Asia and Africa are still logging on to the portal to get a feel of the new hit.
In what many entertainment buffs termed a grand entry from the blues, ‘Easy On Me’ has topped the United States iTunes chart.
Fans of the British singer have also praised the new track with many comparing it to Adele’s earlier hit, “Hello,” both of which were directed by Xavier Dolan.
The song also captured the emotional odyssey from her previous marriage.
Adele remains one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with sales of over 120 million records.
