Wole Oke should be investigated for his role in arms scandal – Jibrin
Former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin has said that the former Chairman House Committee on Public Procurement, Hon. Oluwole Oke should be investigated for his role in the arms scandal.
Jibrin also said Hon. Oke belongs to the inner circle of the corrupt cabal in the House.
The House of Reps whistle blower made the allegation in response to an interview granted by Oke to Thisday newspaper. Oke – a member of the House, representing Obokon/Oriade constituency of Osun State in the House of Reps – had said the All Progressives Congress (APC) government should sanction Jibrin because he has painted the government of President Muhammad Buhari in bad light.
Jibrin said that during the interview, Oke did not provide response to any of the allegation but rather attacked his (Jibrin’s) person and called on the security agencies to probe him.
In a 13-part tweet series, the former Appropriations Committee chairman on Monday said the Osun rep failed woefully to state a single offense of fraud or corruption that he has committed in his five years in the House.
He added that if enough background checks had been done on the Osun State Reps member, he would not have been in the House in the first place.
