HOMICIDE? Man allegedly killed days after winning N11 million in football bettings in Nasarawa

The remains of a man have been has been discovered by the roadside in Sabo Pegi of Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State.

Online reports claimed the deceased had recently won N11 million in a football betting, prompting insinuations that he might have been killed.

The corpse of the man, identified as Achuku Joseph, was found dumped by the roadside near the Federal University in Lafia last Saturday morning with deep cuts in his body.

It was gathered that his friends had threatened to kill him if he did not give them their share of the money he won from Naijabet.

Quoting a source, TheNation reported that the deceased was forced to relocate to another location after threats to his life became too much to bear.

The source said,

“Achuku relocated to another place to hide, but they traced him and used charms on him, which made him to become ill. He started behaving abnormally.

“We called a pastor, who prayed for him and later took him to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia. A potion was discovered in his pocket and it was removed. He then recuperated.”

He added that the deceased went out at 6am last Saturday without the knowledge of his family, and his body was found by the roadside thereafter.
