Hollywood actor and director Timothy Busfield, known for roles in “The West Wing” and “Thirtysomething,” is facing serious criminal charges for the alleged sexual abuse of minors on a television set.

According to TMZ a criminal complaint filed Friday in New Mexico, Busfield has been charged with child abuse and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under the age of 13.

The charges allege that Busfield sexually abused two underage boys on the set of the Fox television series “The Cleaning Lady.” Prosecutors state that one boy, who was 7 years old at the time, reported that Busfield touched him in his “private areas” on five or six separate occasions between takes after a scene had ended. The alleged abuse continued when the child was 8 years old.

A second child actor also told investigators that Busfield touched him inappropriately.

Albuquerque police confirmed to TMZ that an investigation into Busfield began in November 2024. An arrest warrant was issued on Friday, and law enforcement officials are actively searching for the actor, hoping he will surrender.

Busfield, a Primetime Emmy winner for his role in “Thirtysomething,” has a long career in film and television, including notable parts in “Field of Dreams” and “Revenge of the Nerds.”

The case remains under active investigation.
