A United States court has convicted actor Nick Pasqual of attempted murder after he carried out a violent knife attack on his estranged girlfriend, a Hollywood makeup artist, in May 2024.
Pasqual, 36, who is known for minor appearances in the television series How I Met Your Mother, was found guilty over the assault that took place around 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2024, at the victim’s residence in Los Angeles.
During the trial, prosecutors established that the actor unlawfully entered the woman’s Sunland home and repeatedly stabbed her, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.
The court was also told that the victim had obtained a restraining order against Pasqual only days before the incident occurred. After the attack, the actor allegedly attempted to escape from the United States but was apprehended by border patrol officers at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, on May 29, 2024.
Jurors heard disturbing evidence about the severity of the victim’s wounds, which reportedly required several surgeries and prolonged treatment in intensive care.
Alongside the attempted murder conviction, Pasqual was also found guilty of first-degree residential burglary and injuring a spouse.
The actor is facing a possible life sentence, with the court fixing June 2 for his sentencing hearing to determine the length of his imprisonment.
