Hit-and-run motorist crushes okada rider to death on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A motorcyclist was on Monday crushed to death by a truck after he was knocked down by a hit-and-run motorist on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident occurred around 11am at Olowotedo, opposite Deeper Life Conference Centre, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement.
Akinbiyi said the motorist had knocked the rider to the other side of the road before the truck crushed him to death.
He said,
“According to an eyewitness, a hit-and-run driver hit the motorcyclist from behind and flung him to the front of a moving truck, which ran over him and he died immediately.
“The incident created pandemonium for some minutes along the expressway with area boys beating and hitting everyone in sight because the deceased was a resident of the area.”
Akinbiyi explained that the truck driver had been arrested by the police and taken to the Mowe Divisional Police Command for interrogation.
He said the body of the deceased was deposited in the morgue of the Idera Hospital, Sagamu.
