Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Monday, delivered some Made in Aba shoes to Former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his hilltop home in Ogun State.
Governor Ikpeazu during the presentation of the goods revealed that Obasanjo ordered some made in Aba shoes when they met at a function in Lagos some weeks ago.
The Governor said the people of Aba want Obasanjo to wear the shoes and tell others about them.
The Governor further hinted that they as promoters of made in Aba products, have taken it upon themselves to promote made in Aba goods by wearing them and by telling others about them.
Obasanjo thanked Governor Ikpeazu for taking it upon himself to personally deliver the shoes to him. He also applauded the makers of the shoes for adorning him with the wonderful, classy and classic shoes made in Aba.
The former President revealed that the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is spearheading made in Africa goods, and that they have heard so much about Aba.
Obasanjo said Afreximbank plan on paying special visit to Aba, with the intention of establishing an industrial park in the state to encourage production and exportation of goods made in Africa.
