HER MUSIC LIVES ON! Queen of soul, Aretha Franklin, is dead

The first woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Aretha Franklin, popular known as the Queen of soul, is died.

Franklin who has battled health problems for several years died on Thursday at her home in Detroit.

She was 76 years old.

The singer’s publicist confirmed the news to the Associated Press.

Earlier today dozens gathered at her father’s former church to pray for her quick recovery because the 18-time Grammy award winner who had been a great source of blessings for the church for years.

The prayer vigil was attended by ten ministers and deacons from several Detroit churches at New Bethel to intercede and sing.

The New Bethel Baptist Church, founded in 1932, was led for 33 years by the late Rev. C. L. Franklin, father of the Queen of Soul.

Franklin underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer in December 2010 and has often taken ill in subsequent years.
