Nigerian comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, has sparked reactions online after calling out some prominent clerics over her marital status.
In a viral video shared on her social media pages, Princess tagged Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Joshua Selman, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Pastor Philip Olubakin, and Apostle Femi Lazarus, asking them to help her find a husband.
The comedian said she had been following their teachings and doing exactly what they advised single people to do, including praying, fasting, and taking action.
“Happy New Year. I’m single. Even though I’m divorced, at least I’m single,” she said.
Princess revealed that she had sent messages and dropped comments under some of the clerics’ posts asking for help, but instead of assistance, she was mocked by other social media users.
She questioned if there were no responsible and God-fearing men in their churches who were willing to marry.
“Are you saying that in your whole church, across all the branches, there’s not one responsible and kind man?” she asked.
Speaking on her preference, Princess said she was interested in men in their late 40s or early 50s, adding that she did not mind widowers or divorced men, but ruled out those who were separated.
She stressed that prayer alone was not enough and must be backed with action.
“We can’t just be praying and fasting. We have to back it up with action,” she said.
The comedian pleaded with the clerics to go through the list of single men in their churches and either send her their Instagram handles or link them to her directly.
“You don’t have to do much. Just send me their Instagram handles. I’ll take it from there,” she added.
Princess also said she hoped that by September or October 2026, she would be engaged, noting that if nothing was done, she would continue to call out the clerics and even run sponsored posts about her desire to remarry.
Her video has since generated widespread reactions online, with many fans praising her boldness and praying for her.
Saintomyeka commented, “I love your openness and honesty. May the Lord provide the man of your choice in Jesus’ name.”
Olajumoekemi wrote, “Princess, I commend your boldness. Congratulations in advance.”
Nikkiklayo added, “From your lips to God’s ears. A responsible and kind man is coming speedily for you.”
