Handing children religious assignments from school appalling - Model, Adetutu

A model, Adetutu Alabi, has lashed out at schools that habitually send children home with religious studies’ assignments.

Adetutu complained bitterly about the development on her Facebook page on Thursday.

In her narrative, the model stated that she found it nauseating that her daughter could still be given a Christian religious study as homework, despite knowing she is neither a Christian nor Muslim.

According to the mother-of-one, her daughter has to constantly borrow Bible from her cousins every time she is given such assignments as she does not have a Bible in the house.

Expressing her exasperation, Adetutu noted it is sad that she can’t do anything about it because she is in a country that enforces Christianity or Islam on people.

She wrote: “Despite the fact that she stated in her school that she’s not a Christian nor a Muslim, they are always giving her Christian assignments by force. She doesn’t have a Bible, she has to borrow from my cousins.

“I’m here fuming and can’t do anything because I’m in a country that will either make you be a Christian or Muslim by force.

“All I can tell her is sorry baby girl, I’m sorry.”

Adetutu Alabi is using social media to create awareness and change the narrative of people with tribal markings in Africa.
