Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has opened up about one of the most difficult periods of her life. In particular, she discussed her Halima Abubakar health struggles. She recalled how several colleagues failed to reach out while she battled illness.
According to The PUNCH, the actress told Saturday Beats that although she does not describe the situation as abandonment, she was hurt. She explained that people she expected to check on her never did. This made the Halima Abubakar health situation even more emotionally challenging.
Halima said some people within the industry appeared to believe a particular narrative about her. However, they did so without first asking for her side of the story.
“They just left me to die, but God said I will live,” she said.
Actress moves beyond past hurt

The actress said surviving the period changed her outlook on life and even the way she communicates with people.

She also expressed gratitude to BBNaija star Mercy Eke and younger Nollywood colleagues. These included Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold, Regina Daniels, Monica Friday and Queeneth Agbor.
Halima said Regina provided major assistance towards her medical treatment.
Despite her disappointment with some colleagues, the actress maintained that she has not lost her affection for the Nigerian film industry. Now, she is focused on the future rather than past disagreements.
