Gunmen attack APC chairmanship aspirant in Lagos, shoot domestic worker dead

A 54-year-old man, Ifeanyi Godfrey, has died during an attack by some unknown gunmen on the office of an All Progressive Congress chairmanship aspirant, Oluwatosin Onamade, in the Ijede area of Ikorodu Lagos State.

WuzupNigeria gathered that Godfrey, a domestic worker with the politician, was shot in the head while others sustained bullet wounds when the gunmen stormed Onamade’s office premises and started shooting.

Onamde’s brother, Olufemi, who was also on the premises as of the time of the attack was beaten into a coma. He was later rushed to the hospital for Ijede General Hospital.

Speaking of the incident, the chairmanship aspirant said the “hoodlums came with guns and cutlasses and vandalised my property at my office, Western Funeral Home Limited”, adding that the attackers were about 35 in number.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He said Godfrey’s remains had been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.

He added, “The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.”
