Gunmen have kidnapped two Chinese nationals near Kemta, along Onigbedu in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Ogun State Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident on Monday in Abeokuta. She said the police are working hard to secure the release of the victims.

“The company’s security supervisor reported that one of the expatriates called to inform him that Wenguang and Ding had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding money for their release,” Odutola explained.

She added, “Our operatives in the Ewekoro Division, along with local vigilantes, military personnel from the Social Orientation and Safety Corps, local hunters, and other security groups, have thoroughly searched the entire Kemta Village forest but have not yet found the victims.”

The kidnappers have already contacted the victims’ company to demand a ransom. Odutola assured that efforts to rescue the two Chinese nationals are ongoing.
