Gunmen targeted the residence of the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman, Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, in Jigawa State, abducting his two wives.
According to Kiyawa, the gunmen launched their attack after the Isha’i evening prayer on Friday night. They forcibly entered his residence after firing two gunshots at his door.
Kiyawa explained, “They fired twice at my door before entering. From there, they took my two wives; they are still holding them hostage.”
The Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu, confirmed the incident, indicating that they received an emergency call and promptly dispatched officers to the scene of the crime.
However, by the time the police arrived, the gunmen had already kidnapped the chairman’s wives.
Shiisu reassured the public that the police force has deployed officers throughout the local government to work tirelessly toward the safe rescue of the abducted women.
He also urged the public to provide any information that could assist in capturing the kidnappers, emphasizing that their cooperation would be greatly appreciated.
