Unknown gunmen suspected to be terrorists on Wednesday invaded Rigachikun community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State where they kidnapped a bride-to-be identified as Khadija and five other residents.

The invaders stormed the community close to Kasan Dam around 1am and whisked away their victims from three houses.

Daily Trust reports that a woman whose grandchildren were among those abducted said the bride-to-be identified was asleep by her side when the assailants broke into their room.

“We were sleeping when they came into the room and asked Khadija and one Shabilu to come with them. They also took away a phone and a piece of bread from the table. We are confused,” She said.

Reacting to the incident, a community leader, Idris Abdulrasheed, claimed that the attack was the first in the community, adding that the police had already been informed.

He further disclosed that the bandits were yet to contact the families of the victims.

As of the time of filing the report, the police spokesman in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, could not be reached for confirmation.
