Gun-wielding thugs invade polling units in Mafoluku, cart away ballot papers

There is tension in Mafoluku in Oshodi area of Lagos State after some hoodlums stormed the area and carted away ballot papers and personal effects of INEC officials.

WuzupNaija gathered that the incident happened at polling units 34 and 35.

INEC officials who escaped the attack reported that the hoodlums who wielded guns stormed the polling units in a commando-like manner, scaring voters.

It was gathered that the unarmed security operatives at the units scampered for safety, and took refuge in surrounding buildings.

It was equally gathered that three of the INEC officials were injured in the attack.

“The hoodlums were no fewer than 20. They came armed with assault rifles, and snatched ballot papers and the box while voting was still in process, ” one of the ad hoc staff who simply identified herself as Omowunmi told newsmen.
