Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has pledged his unwavering loyalty to the club, asserting that he will remain in his position even if the club faces relegation to the third-tier League One due to breaching Premier League financial rules.

Guardiola’s declaration comes amidst heightened scrutiny surrounding City’s financial dealings, particularly following Everton’s recent 10-point deduction for breaking financial rules.

City, currently under investigation for 115 breaches of financial rules, vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

Addressing the possibility of relegation, Guardiola maintained his unwavering commitment to the club, stating, “Absolutely, I will not consider my future (if) it depends (on) being here or being in League One. Absolutely.

He further elaborated, “There is more chance to stay if we are in League One than if we were in the Champions League.”

Guardiola acknowledged the desire of many within the football world to see City punished severely.

However, he emphasized the importance of due process, asserting, “Wait. What I said a month ago — OK, if we’ve done something wrong we’ll be punished. But wait — we can defend ourselves can’t we?

Drawing a distinction between City’s situation and Everton’s, Guardiola stated, “I want to say the case for Everton, and I don’t know what happened, but only I know from the lawyers and people at my club is that they are completely different cases. That’s why you cannot compare because every case is completely different.
