Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has unveiled the first-ever Holiday Edition of its globally recognised GTCO Food and Drink Festival, set for December 20 and 21, 2025, at the GT Centre, Oniru, Lagos.
This festive-season edition marks a new chapter for Africa’s largest food and beverage festival, promising a blend of culinary experiences, family-friendly activities, and enhanced support for food-focused small and medium enterprise.
At a press briefing in Lagos this week, company officials explained that the holiday edition aims to further elevate the festival’s international profile while celebrating African cuisine and creating memorable experiences for families. Unlike prior editions, the December event will forgo traditional chef masterclasses in favour of immersive holiday attractions, an expanded marketplace, and a more festive environment tailored to visitors of all ages.
GTCO Plc Group Chief Executive Officer, Segun Agbaje, stated that the new edition underscores the group’s commitment to fostering enterprise and promoting African creativity. He described the festival as “a powerful platform that aligns with our mission to promote entrepreneurship, connect communities and curate meaningful lifestyle experiences.” Agbaje added that the December festival provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the season while supporting thousands of food entrepreneurs, a vital segment of the national economy.
Remaining true to its free vendor participation model, GTCO reported an overwhelming response from SMEs, receiving over 4,000 applications for the event. From this pool, 213 Nigerian-owned food businesses were selected—almost double the number featured in the previous edition—highlighting the festival’s growing influence as a driver of SME growth and inclusive economic development.
The holiday edition will feature a range of festive attractions, including a Christmas Village showcasing handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats, and artisanal products; an expanded children’s play area designed for young families; a dynamic street food hub celebrating Nigeria’s diverse street cuisine; and live performances from two top DJs to maintain a lively atmosphere throughout the two-day celebration.
