United States President Donald Trump has launched a furious attack on Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah, calling the ceremony “the worst, virtually unwatchable” and threatening legal action after Noah made a joke linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein.
The clash erupted after Noah, hosting the Grammys for the final time on Sunday, quipped during the broadcast: “That’s a Grammy that every artist wants—almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Trump responded on his Truth Social platform, writing in all caps, “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there.”
He called Noah “a total loser” and threatened to sue. “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$,” Trump wrote. “Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Noah also joked about rapper Nicki Minaj, a vocal Trump supporter who was absent from the event, saying, “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues.”
The exchange comes amid renewed attention on Epstein following the recent release of millions of pages of documents by the U.S. Justice Department related to the convicted sex offender, who died in jail in 2019.
Noah, who has hosted the Grammys for six years, did not publicly respond to Trump’s comments. The incident marks another chapter in Trump’s long-running disputes with late-night comedians and awards shows.
