Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared Friday, November 15, 2024, a public holiday for all public servants in the state.
This decision is to give workers time to travel to their communities ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
This was announced in a statement on Thursday from the Office of the Head of Service. The statement, signed by Permanent Secretary F. Ayodele, explained, “The 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo State has been scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.”
“To this end, the Ondo State Government has declared Friday, November 15, 2024, as a work-free day for public servants in the state to enable them to travel to their various communities to exercise their civic responsibilities.”
The circular further instructed all accounting officers to inform their staff in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies about the holiday.
