Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State today, December 15, 2016, receives President Muhammadu Buhari in Lagos to commission the newly acquired indigenous built ship and two boats of the Nigerian Navy at the Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Among the dignitaries at the commissioning, the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibot-Ete Ibas, Special Boat Services Commander, Commodore Rick Michaels, Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General Abayomi Olonishakin, Secretary to Lagos State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello and Commissioner for Special Duties & Inter-Governmental Realtions, Mr. Oluseye Oladejo.
President Buhari announced the commissioning through his official Twitter handle.
Today in Lagos I commissioned three new Naval Ships. I’m pleased to note that two of those Ships were built locally by @NigerianNavy.
