Gov Lawal retains deputy Mummuni as running mate for 2027 election

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has confirmed that his deputy, Mani Malam Mummuni, will remain his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.

The announcement was made at the Government House in Gusau, where Governor Lawal formally presented Mummuni with a letter affirming his decision.

Speaking during the presentation, the governor described his deputy as a “committed, loyal, patient, humble, and dependable partner whose hard work has helped the administration achieve its goals.”

Lawal noted that both leaders had built a strong and productive working relationship since assuming office, adding that Mummuni’s experience, sound judgment and dedication to public service had significantly contributed to the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.

The governor further stated that the successes recorded by his administration, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and good governance, were the result of collective efforts, with the deputy governor playing a key role in driving those achievements.

In his response, Mummuni expressed gratitude to God and thanked Governor Lawal for the confidence reposed in him by retaining him as his running mate for the 2027 election.

He pledged to remain loyal and committed to the administration’s vision, assuring that he would continue to work diligently to ensure the successful implementation of government policies and programmes, particularly those aimed at improving infrastructure and the delivery of essential services.
