Governor Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday, met with executive members of Ekiti State Council of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in Afao Ekiti.
This was made known in the pictures that emerged on the internet after the governor finished meeting with the NMA executives.
It was reported that the governor after meeting with members of the association, approved the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for the state’s medical doctors.
It was gathered that the state’s medical practitioners for over four months now, have been agitating for CONMESS, which is a special salary scale that is expected to be set aside for them.
Governor Fayose who said he would have approved the special package before now, blamed the economic downturn being experienced in the state for the delay.
The state’s NMA Chairman, Dr. Sunday Omoya, thanked the governor for approving the salary structure, and promised residents that the governor’s gesture will user in improved performance on the part of the state’s medical personnel.
