Gov Ayade appoints Iyanya as SSA on tourism, entertainment

Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, on Wednesday night appointed popular singer, Iyanya, as Senior Special Assistant Tourism and Entertainment.

Iyanya’s appointment was announced in a statement issued by Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita.

Apart from the ‘Kukere’ crooner, Ita disclosed that 26 other personalities were also appointed as aides to the governor.

The special adviser to the governor added that the appointment takes immediate effect.

Reacting to his appointment in an Instagram post on Thursday, an excited Iyanya expressed appreciation to the governor for considering him for such notable position in his government.

“It’s forward ever and backward never. I have been appointed the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.

“I thank God who made this possible and also my Governor for finding me worthy to handle this position,” he said.

Iyanya rose to prominence after winning the first season of Project Fame West Africa and releasing his hit track Kukere, afterward.

He co-founded the record label Made Men Music Group with Ubi Franklin in 2011. He released his debut studio album My Story in 2011.
