Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has hosted popular Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Face, and his wife, Natasha, at a special dinner held at the Government House in Makurdi.
The event, which took place over the weekend at the New Banquet Hall, was called the “Induction Dinner and Official Unveiling of a New Phase of Leadership, Creativity, and Community Impact.”
Governor Alia confirmed the event in a Facebook post on Sunday night. He described it as “a convergence of talent, passion, and purpose.”
The governor said the evening featured the official launch of the “1 Voice Benue Manifesto,” which he described as “a call to action for unity, innovation, and social impact.”
“What made this night even more special,” Alia wrote, “was the powerful gathering of Benue’s finest in showbiz — a vibrant display of the creative energy that flows through our people.”
He praised the talents of Benue’s youth in various areas like music, film, comedy, fashion, and performance, saying they had shown that the state’s creative industry is ready to lead and inspire others.
“I am proud to stand with our youth, our creatives, and all those committed to a better Benue. This is only the beginning,” he added.
Other Benue artistes also attended the colourful event, which celebrated creativity and community development in the state.
2Face, who hails from Benue, was recently appointed by Governor Alia as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach. His presence at the event, along with his wife Natasha, marked his first major appearance in the new role.
