Gospel singer Pita escapes phone theft during ministration in Lago
Popular gospel singer Peter Linus, better known as Pita, has revealed how he narrowly escaped having his phone stolen during a worship session in Lagos.
The incident happened while Pita was ministering at a recent conference in a well-known worship center in the city.
In a post shared on social media, the singer described the moment as both shocking and funny.
“While the people of God were worshiping, a son of perdition was trying to steal my phone,” Pita wrote. “But as a child of God, I was aware of my surroundings. We watch and praise.”
A video posted alongside his message showed worshippers deep in praise, unaware of what was happening.
Pita also tagged his colleague, @nhn_couture, asking if they remembered the moment.
One of his team members, who spoke anonymously, confirmed the attempted theft. “Honestly, we were all just focused on the worship. It wasn’t until afterward that we realized someone had tried to snatch his phone. Thank God he noticed on time,” the team member said.
Pita later called it “one of the most hilarious moments” of his ministry so far.
Security has now been reviewed at the worship venue to prevent such incidents in future.
