The burial arrangements for late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, known for the hit song “Omije Ojumi,” have been announced by her family.

Akinnaanu passed away on January 12 after a prolonged battle with a serious leg ailment, a condition she had publicly sought prayers for in the months before her death.

The schedule, shared by fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody on Instagram, shows that the final rites will begin on Tuesday, January 20, with a service of songs at the LTV 8 Ground in Ikeja, Lagos. This will be followed by a candlelight procession at 7 p.m. and a tribute and artistes’ night at 8 p.m. the same day.

The interment service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, and will be held strictly for family members and close associates.

Akinnaanu, who began singing at age 10, left a banking career to pursue gospel music full-time. She gained widespread recognition with her deeply resonant track “Omije Ojumi,” which became a staple in many Nigerian churches and homes.
