Google has introduced Gemini Omni, an artificial intelligence-driven video generation platform that enables users to create and edit videos through text instructions, images and voice commands, marking another expansion of the company’s growing Gemini AI ecosystem.

In a statement published on its official blog, Google explained that Gemini Omni was developed to deliver “native multimodal video generation,” giving users the ability to produce videos directly from simple prompts while blending text, audio and visual elements into a single workflow.

“Gemini Omni is our next step toward more capable multimodal generation,” Google said, noting that the model is designed to improve understanding and content creation across multiple forms of media.

The technology company stated that the new AI model is capable of producing short videos from written descriptions, converting static images into animated visuals, and incorporating voice prompts to influence scenes, narration and storytelling.

Google also noted that the platform has been built to interpret context more effectively across different media formats, helping users generate video content that is more detailed, connected and consistent.

According to the company, Gemini Omni is targeted at creators, software developers and businesses seeking to integrate AI-powered video generation into their operations and digital products.

Google added that the tool may be applied across several sectors, including marketing, education, software engineering and content production, as interest in rapid AI-assisted video creation continues to rise.

The launch is part of Google’s broader plan to extend the capabilities of Gemini beyond traditional chat and search functions into productivity tools, software development and advanced content generation services.

Industry observers believe the development intensifies competition among major technology firms investing in AI-powered video platforms, as companies race to expand the commercial use of generative artificial intelligence.
