The All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the Senate on Tuesday announced the removal of Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South) as their leader, replacing him with Senator Ahmed Lawan ( Yobe North).
This was disclosed by the Senate President Bukola Saraki on the floor of the Upper Chamber on Tuesday when he read a letter sent to him by the APC senators.

However, trouble seems to be brewing in the Senate as Ndume has come out to describe the report of his removal as laughable.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, shortly after the news of his removal broke, the lawmaker insists he still remains the leader of the Upper Legislative Chamber. Ndume added that he was unaware of his removal by the APC Senate Caucus.
While we continue to monitor the story as it develops, many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their takes on Senator Alu Ndume’s removal as Senate majority leader.
While some are of the opinion that the decision to remove Ndume was long overdue, other feel it was a wrong decision at a time when the ruling party needs to assure the nation that all is well with the party.
