The Dream Team VI of Nigeria are not going to play in the men’s soccer finals of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Nigeria were beaten 2-0 by Germany to qualify for the gold medal final match.
A goal from Lucas Klostermann in the ninth minute saw the Germans asserting their dominance in the first half, while substitute Petersen’s 89th minute goal sealed the deal.
The Germans would be playing Brazil in the finals, while Nigeria will battle Honduras for the bronze.
The final tie presents an opportunity for Brazil to redeem the 7-1 lost they suffered in the hands of Germany’s senior team at the 2014 World Cup.
