A young man and his girlfriend lost their lives due to inhaling fumes from a generator set locked inside their apartment overnight in Ugborikoko community, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The unidentified man and his girlfriend reportedly celebrated the latter’s birthday at a nightclub on Monday before the unfortunate incident unfolded.
According to reports, after leaving the party, the couple proceeded to the lady’s shop, where they switched on a generator set inside their apartment before going to sleep. Sadly, they never woke up.
Neighbors discovered the lifeless bodies of the couple in their room in the early hours of Monday.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the tragic incident during a telephone conversation with journalists on Tuesday.
The police are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the couple’s untimely demise.
