An old video of late Dare Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has resurfaced on social media.
In the viral video, Dare was captured saying that he once had a dream of becoming a professional football star.

Born to a pastor and raised in the church, Dare was a carbon copy of his parents, especially his dad in appearance and followed in the footsteps of his famed cleric of a dad until his tragic death on Tuesday, May 4.

Dare, in the old interview held during one of the annual Holy Ghost Service with the RCCG’s Pastors Seed’s Family, opened up on his childhood desire of becoming a professional footballer.

Speaking in the series of videos posted by his younger brother, Leke, on his Insta Story on Friday, Dare revealed that he wanted to be many other things.

“I wanted to be a footballer, I wanted to be several other things but looking at the answer my sister just gave about how we all found ourselves as pastors, I guess it was all written before the heavens were created that that is what we were going to be. It was not necessarily because our father and our mother is General Overseer and Mother in Israel,” he said.

Unfortunately, Dare didn’t live up to his dreams of becoming a footballer as he followed in his father’s footsteps and imparted the lives of many in his capacity, while alive, as seen in many condolence messages flooding social media.

He died leaving behind his wife Temiloluwa and three children.

The news of his demise in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family as the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, took Nigerians by surprise.
Reactions and condolences have since flooded social media on Wednesday after the news was confirmed.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, alongside other government officials and religious leaders, amongst others have condoled with the Adeboye family.

The deceased has been described by many as “an embodiment of inexhaustible tenderness and of rare grace and charm,” according to the founder of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Daniel Olukoya.
Meanwhile, the remains of Pastor Dare who was the third son of Pastor Adeboye will be committed to mother earth on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021, according to Leke.
