The death toll from the ongoing Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 72,757, while the number of injured has reached 172,645 since October 7, 2023.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, medical officials said on Saturday that hospitals across Gaza received 13 bodies within the last 24 hours, including one individual who later died from earlier injuries. The same period also recorded 57 additional injuries.
Medical sources further disclosed that since the ceasefire announced on October 11, at least 870 people have been killed and 2,543 others wounded. They added that 771 bodies have so far been retrieved.
The officials noted that several victims are still trapped beneath collapsed buildings or lying in the streets, as emergency and rescue personnel remain unable to reach them because of the continuing situation on the ground.
In a separate incident, medical authorities confirmed that one Palestinian died following the collapse of a building, bringing the total number of fatalities linked to structural collapses to 30.
Meanwhile, on Friday, seven Palestinians lost their lives and dozens sustained injuries after Israeli airstrikes struck a residential apartment and a vehicle in Gaza City.
