Former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially taken up his new role as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

The inauguration ceremony was held in Abuja on Wednesday and comes just weeks after Ganduje stepped down as the leader of the ruling party.

Gbenga Saka, special adviser on digital media to the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, shared a video of the event on his X handle. President Bola Tinubu had earlier appointed Ganduje to the FAAN position in January.

The APC confirmed Ganduje’s resignation from his party role, saying it was for personal reasons. Party spokesman Felix Morka said, “His resignation, which is effective immediately, was offered to enable him to attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

In his letter, addressed to the party’s National Working Committee, Ganduje thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve at the highest level of the APC.

Ali Dalori has been named as the interim chairman of the APC, while the party awaits a formal National Executive Committee meeting to choose a permanent replacement.

Ganduje served as Governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023 and became APC chairman in August 2023.
