Ganduje is a liability to Tinubu – Kwankwaso

Published

The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party and its presidential candidate in the previous February elections, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticized his political adversary, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. He stated that Ganduje is a burden to the All Progressives Congress and cannot secure a win for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

The NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Yakubu Shendam, issued a statement in response to comments made by Ganduje, the ruling party’s chairman, who labeled Kwankwaso as a habitual loser.

The party asserted that given the alleged scandals surrounding Ganduje, no rational Nigerian should take him seriously. They believe these scandals have caused irreparable harm to the former governor of Kano State and will hinder his ability to secure a win for Tinubu and the APC in 2027.

Shendam further stated, “Ganduje is a liability to Tinubu, his party APC, and the country. I can confidently say that with Ganduje as the National Chairman, President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election because Nigerians will not vote for him.”

He also warned that Tinubu would regret allowing Nigerians to perceive him through Ganduje’s actions and associating closely with such a disloyal character.

Shendam reminded Ganduje of his political history with Kwankwaso, stating that after losing the governorship primary, Kwankwaso selected him as his running mate in 2003 and again in 2015. Despite this support, Ganduje betrayed Kwankwaso.

The statement also claimed that Ganduje has never won an election on his own merit except for the governorship in 2015, which was handed to him by Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, revealed that he had contested elections 17 times and won 14.

He also expressed concern over what he perceives as an attempt by the Ganduje-led APC to undermine the will of the people of Kano State.

He cautioned that any attempt to seize Kano through underhanded tactics, like in 2019, will be opposed by the people of Kano and judges with integrity.
