Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has sponsored a filmmaking programme at the London Film Academy for Nigerian content creator Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, popularly known as Juicyjeff.
Oboh-Oshioke announced the development on Tuesday in an Instagram post after arriving in London to commence his studies.
The content creator has worked closely with Akindele, producing behind-the-scenes footage and mobile videos during her film productions.
In his post, he expressed gratitude to Akindele for providing him with the opportunity to further his filmmaking education.
“My mummy, @funkejenifaakindele, out of her incredible generosity and genuine belief in me, has given me an opportunity I will never take for granted — to come to London and pursue my passion for filmmaking at the London Film Academy,” he wrote.
Oboh-Oshioke said Akindele’s support had transformed an ambition he had nurtured for years into a tangible reality.
“Mummy, thank you for seeing something in me, believing in my potential and using your heart to open this door for me. Your support has moved this dream from a conversation to a real-life experience. I will never take this for granted, Ma.”
The videographer also posted footage documenting his journey from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London, describing the trip as the beginning of a fresh chapter in his career.
“This is not just another trip. It’s a new chapter, a new frame and definitely a bigger production! From Lagos to London, the camera keeps rolling… and I’m grateful for every scene. London Film Academy… LEGGO!”
Oboh-Oshioke has gained recognition for capturing Akindele’s film projects and behind-the-scenes activities, as well as moments from her daily life on set.
Akindele is currently in the United Kingdom following the release and launch of her latest film, ‘The Four’.
The creator of the popular Jenifa franchise is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s prominent producers and directors, with several successful film projects to her credit in recent years.
