Nollywood actress of the Jenifa fame, Funke Akindele is 40 years old today.
She didn’t wait for people to wish her happy birthday before she wished herself the same.
“Thank you Lord for another year on earth. It’s been you oh Lord! Thank you for making me a force to reckon with. You alone are worthy of all the praises. Happy Birthday to me”, she wrote on Instagram.
Since the actress posted the message on her instagram, many of her fans have been wishing her long life and prosperity.
Popular video director, Damilola Puffytee also did two videos to celebrate the comedy goddess.

Other people who are a year older today are:
Peter Rufai, veteran goalkeeper for Nigeria’s National team, Super Eagles. The goalkeeper was born 24 August 1963.
He competed professionally in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, in a senior career that lasted twenty years. Rufai represented Nigeria in two World Cups and as many Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
Exactly 12 years before Funke Akindele was born, the 52-year-old retired goalkeeper was born in Lagos.
He started his career in his country, playing with Stationery Stores F.C. and Femo Scorpions. In 1986 he moved to Benin, with AS Dragons FC de l’Ouémé.
At a more professional level Rufai spent six years in Belgium, with K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen and K.S.K. Beveren, although he appeared sparingly. In the 1993–94 season he played 12 matches for Dutch neighbours Go Ahead Eagles, which finished 12th in the Eredivisie. In all, he earned 65 caps for Nigeria.
Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, popularly known as M.K.O Abiola, would have been 79 years old today if he had not died in mysterious circumstances on July 27 1998.
Abiola was a Nigerian businessman, publisher, politician who ran for the presidency in 1993, and is widely regarded as the presumed winner of the inconclusive election since no official final results were ever announced.
He died in prison in 1998, after being denied victory when the entire election results were dubiously annulled by the preceding military president Ibrahim Babangida.
