Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Tems, Burna Boy and Asake have secured major nominations for the 2026 BET Awards.

According to The Punch, the nominations were unveiled on Tuesday ahead of the award ceremony scheduled to hold on June 28, 2026, in Los Angeles.

Wizkid and Asake earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category following the success of their collaborative releases, while Tems emerged as one of the most nominated African artists with three nods.

Tems secured nominations in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist category, BET Her Award for “First,” and the Viewers’ Choice category for “Raindance,” her collaboration with Dave.

Burna Boy also received a nomination in the Best Collaboration category for “WGFT,” his feature on Gunna’s track.

Nigerian artists continue to maintain a strong presence at the BET Awards, with previous winners including Davido, 2Baba, D’banj, Ice Prince and Ayra Starr.

Talents of Nigerian descent were also recognised in the acting categories, with Ayo Edebiri and Cynthia Erivo nominated for Best Actress, while Damson Idris earned a Best Actor nomination.
