Nigerian creators have solidified their dominance in Africa’s live-streaming landscape, occupying the majority of spots in the continent’s top 10 biggest streamers for 2026.

Data from Twitch and Kick reveals Nigeria’s rising influence, driven by strong audience engagement, celebrity collaborations, and the professionalization of live streaming as a career.

While South Africa initially led the scene, momentum has shifted to West Africa, particularly Nigeria, following high-profile visits from global streamers like Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed.

The rankings are based on combined followership across both platforms, highlighting sustained influence over short-term virality.

Carter Efe leads Nigerian streamers with over 560,000 followers, making him Africa’s most-followed creator on Twitch. Shank Comics, a veteran, was the first Nigerian to surpass 100,000 Twitch followers and gained international recognition through Streamer University and a MrBeast prize.

Other Nigerian names in the top 10 include Enzo (Rynenzo), Peller, Ojo, and Lord Lamba. Peller’s early adoption of Kick and role as its first Nigerian brand ambassador underscore strategic platform choices shaping the industry.

Despite Nigeria’s strong showing, the top spot belongs to Morocco’s Ilyas El Maliki with over 847,000 followers. South Africa and Egypt also feature with Rachel Kay, AliasV, and Salma Hassan.
