Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed has won the 2025/26 Guinness Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike against Liverpool in January.
The 30-yard thunderbolt came in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time, rescuing a 2-2 draw for his side at Craven Cottage. Liverpool had looked to be heading back to Merseyside with all three points when Cody Gakpo put them 2-1 ahead three minutes earlier.
Reed took aim from distance and arrowed a powerful drive into the top corner, leaving Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson with no chance.
The goal was Reed’s first since scoring against Everton in April 2023, ending a wait of 995 days.
“A huge thank you to everyone that voted for my goal,” Reed said on Fulham’s website.
“There were some incredible goals scored this season, so to win this award feels like an amazing achievement.”
His goal received the most combined votes from the public and a panel of football experts. It topped a shortlist that also featured each of the season’s Guinness Goal of the Month winners and a standout strike from West Ham United’s Valentin Castellanos in May.
Reed becomes the first Fulham player to win the Goal of the Season award. He is also the second Englishman to win the prize, following Andros Townsend, who won for his incredible volley against Manchester City in the 2018/19 season.
