Fulham frustrate Arsenal in four-goal thriller

Published

Ten-man Fulham staged a stunning late comeback to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The result ends Arsenal’s perfect start to the Premier League season and denies them the chance to go top of the table ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures.

In an incident-packed encounter, the visitors took a shock lead inside the first minute through Andreas Pereira after Bukayo Saka’s error gifted him the opener.

Saka made amends by equalizing from the penalty spot in the second half before Eddie Nketiah controversially put Arsenal ahead as the hosts declined to put the ball out of play with Fulham’s Calvin Bassey down injured.

Bassey was later sent off, but Fulham showed tremendous spirit and resilience to battle back despite their numerical disadvantage.
