Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved the appointment of key positions within the state administration.
Former factional speaker of the State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie, has been selected to serve as the Chief of Staff at the Government House.
“The opportunity to serve as Chief of Staff presents a profound chance to contribute to the advancement and welfare of our state,” Ehie expressed in response to his appointment.
Additionally, the Governor has appointed Darlington Orji, Solomon Abel Eke, Aminayanasam Fiberesima, Deeyah Bariene, and Prince Obi Ohia as Special Advisers.
“I am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility and pledge to work diligently for the betterment of Rivers State,” commented Darlington Orji, one of the newly appointed Special Advisers.
A statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, on Monday, announced that the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Chief of Staff and Special Advisers, along with one guest each, is scheduled to take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House on Monday, January 29th, 2024, at 10:30 am. His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, will conduct the swearing-in ceremony at 11:00 am.
Ehie’s appointment comes after his resignation as the member representing Ahoada East State constituency 2 and as Speaker of a faction of the State House of Assembly during the political crisis in the state.
