FRSC returns ₦630,750 to crash victim’s family in Zamfara

The Federal Road Safety Corps in Zamfara State has returned the sum of ₦630,750 recovered from a road accident to a relative of one of the victims.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Sector Head of Public Education, Aliyu Kankara, on Sunday.

The accident, which happened on November 21, 2024, at Tazame village along the Gusau-Funtua road, was caused by overspeeding and wrongful overtaking.

Kankae said, “The accident involved a white bus with registration number ABJ758XB and a Volkswagen Golf without registration plates. Our rescue team quickly responded to the distress call and evacuated the injured to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.”

Kankara also revealed that items recovered at the accident scene included three Tecno keypad phones, two Android smartphones, and the cash handed over to the victim’s relative.

The Zamfara Sector Commander, CC Tijjani Iliyasu, used the opportunity to remind drivers to follow traffic rules. He said, “Drivers must avoid overspeeding, overloading, and dangerous overtaking to ensure safety on the roads.”
