The Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State Command has officially commenced its special patrols for the 2023 Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi, announced the commencement during a visit to the Chief Executive Officer of Winco Foam Nigeria Limited, Dr. Godwin Okafor, at his office in Awka, Anambra State on Friday.
In a briefing to Dr. Okafor about the planned activities for the Yuletide and New Year, Irelewuyi stated, “We will be initiating 18 hours of marathon special patrols on all roads in the state to ensure the free traffic flow.”
He emphasized that FRSC personnel would be deployed to all roads in the state to facilitate the seamless movement of vehicles during the festive period.
Irelewuyi also highlighted the significant reduction in auto crashes in the state from 2022 to 2023, attributing it to the meticulous activities of the FRSC in road control.
In response, Okafor commended the FRSC command for its effective management of state roads.
He encouraged them to persist in their efforts to ensure smooth movement during the Yuletide and New Year festivals.
Okafor assured the organization’s ongoing partnership with the FRSC in maintaining road safety in the state.
