Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has admitted that his future at Stamford Bridge is beyond his control after his club’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday night.

The defeat left the Blues lying the eighth position on the log, nine points off the Premier League summit while the Foxes top of the table.

With speculations of Lampard’s sack mounting, the former Blues captain believes the only thing he can control is to get the players rearing again.

“It’s not my decision[his future], that’s something that will always be there. You always understand some things are beyond your control. Things you can control are going again, lifting the players and working hard. That, I can’t answer.

“It intensified for me a while ago – expectations at this club, right or wrong, are always high. I know we’re in a different position if you look at our squad today and the age in our squad, and look at the composition of our squad, it’s a new squad. I keep talking about transition, but when you perform like that it’s normal that people ask questions,” Lampard told Sky Sports.

Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison scored two first-half goals as Brendan Rodgers’ men handed Lampard’s men their fifth defeat on eight matches, leaving the Englishman worried.

“I am worried about the slump — from the form we were in to get so quickly into the form we’re now… five losses in eight isn’t where we want to be.

“We were in a really good place in December, second in the league and two points from the top. Maybe complacency set in. There’s only one way out of it which is hard work.

“It is clearly concerning. It is a period we are not happy with, other clubs have been in that period. All we can think about is getting through the period, working hard. The important thing is the players bounce back. This is the cut-throat nature of what it is,” he added.
