A four-year-old boy in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, United States surprised police officers by calling 911 last Tuesday to report his mother for eating his ice cream.
According to a statement from the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department, officers were dispatched after receiving a 911 hang-up call. When the call was traced back, the young boy told the dispatcher, “My mommy is being bad.”
The dispatcher asked what was wrong, and the boy responded, “Come and get my mommy.”
His mother quickly took the phone and explained the situation, saying, “Oh, this little one got the phone, and he’s four. I ate his ice cream, so that’s probably why he’s calling 911.”
Despite her explanation, the boy stood his ground, insisting that his mom should go to jail for eating his treat.
Officers Gardinier and Ostergaard visited the family’s home to make sure there was no real emergency. When they arrived, the boy once again accused his mom of eating his ice cream and demanded she be arrested.
However, after some gentle persuasion, he eventually told the officers that he didn’t want his mom to go to jail anymore — he just wanted some ice cream.
Two days later, the officers returned with a sweet surprise, bringing the boy two scoops of ice cream topped with blue sprinkles.
