JUST IN: Four rescued as three-storey building collapses in Lagos

A three-storey building collapsed in the early hours of Thursday on Lagos Island, leaving several occupants injured.

The building, located on Asesi Lane near Adeniji Adele Road, came down suddenly during the night, causing panic in the area.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in a Facebook post that four people had been rescued from the rubble and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Emergency teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other rescue services arrived at the scene shortly after the collapse to begin search and rescue operations.

As of press time, the cause of the collapse had not been confirmed, and authorities were yet to release further details on the condition of the injured or the structural status of nearby buildings.
