Former Ogun Commissioner John Odubela dies at 55



Former Ogun State Commissioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, John Odubela, has died at the age of 55.

Odubela, who was, until his death, the Head of Chamber, Rickey Tarfa & Co., reportedly died on Monday, PUNCH reports.

The deceased, who was a former Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in the administration of ex-Governor Ibikunle Amosun, bagged the title Senior Advocate in September 2017.

Odubela was lawyer to several VIPs, such as former Kogi-West lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye; Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio; and the All Progressives Congress candidate in the last Edo State governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

He was survived by a wife and three daughters.

Veteran journalist, Dele Momodu, has also taken to social media on Tuesday to mourn the deceased, whom he said was also his lawyer.
