Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Abdurrasheed Bawa, has lost his mother.
According to DailyTrust, details of her death are sketchy but it was reported that Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed Bawa passed on in Sokoto, on Wednesday night.
The anti graft czar said “She died in UDUTH Sokoto and will be buried in Jega, Kebbi inshaAllah around 2:30pm.”
It was further reported that plans are being made to convey her to remains to Kebbi State, where funeral rites would hold later, on Thursday.
Bawa, the first civilian to head EFCC, was nominated as substantive Chairman of the commission on February 16, 2021, and was subsequently confirmed by the National Assembly before he was suspended
