Former senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, Kaka Mallam Yale, has died in Maiduguri, Borno State.
His son, Ibrahim Yale, confirmed the death in a telephone interview with Punch on Friday. He said the former lawmaker died earlier in the day while receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

“Yes, I am his biological son, our father, Kaka Yale died today (Friday),” Ibrahim said.
Details surrounding the illness for which the former senator was receiving treatment were not immediately disclosed.
Yale represented Borno Central in the Nigerian Senate between 2007 and 2011. He entered the Senate after winning election on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
Yale’s political career
Before joining the Senate, Yale had built a career in public service and politics in Borno State.
He previously served as chairman of Konduga Local Government and later as Borno State Commissioner for Education.
Yale also served as Sole Administrator of the Borno Radio Television Corporation before his election to the National Assembly.
During his time in the Senate, he served on committees including education, finance, interior affairs, navy, and establishment and public service.
His death brings to a close a political career that spanned local government administration, state service and national representation.
